Celebrating 140 Years

“QNB Bank’s 140th anniversary is more important than ever!”

QNB Bank’s existence is a testament to its ability to survive the last decade’s economy and the changes in the banking industry, according to Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Brian K. Schaffer.

QNB Bank invites the public to celebrate its Founder’s Day 140th Anniversary on July 19, 2017 in the amphitheater at the Park at 4th. On hand for the celebration will be a Quakertown Fire Company truck with the annual performance of The Quakertown Band. Refreshments provided by the Lion’s Club and Kona Ice.

Visible in each community it serves, QNB Bank sponsors events and organizations throughout the year. On its anniversary weekend, it will support the July 20th, ticketed performance of Blood, Sweat and Tears. With over 500 sponsorships provided to the community in 2016, Schaffer said, “the first quarter of 2017 set a record of over 180 sponsorships, including Arts Alive in Quakertown and the International Spring Festival in Lansdale.”

QNB Bank staffers participate in events including the Upper Bucks Relay for Life, the March of Dimes Walk and a Bucks County Habitat for Humanity project. Last year they held a farmer’s market in which employees donated fresh foods from their own gardens to be sold and the Bank matched all raised funds which were then donated to American Diabetes Research.

The Bank enjoys a history dating back to 1877, just after the end of the Civil War. Originally located in the Free Press Building, today’s QNB Bank encompasses 11 branches and employs about 190 people who serve Bucks, Montgomery, and Lehigh counties.

QNB Bank, with just over $1 billion in total assets, remains one of a handful of independent community banks having experienced steadfast growth due to stable management that includes just seven presidents in its 140-year history.

QNB Bank prides itself on providing loans to small business owners. Schaffer offered that while behemoth banks may not care about small businesses, QNB Bank sees their value. “When a local machine shop needs a $200,000 loan to invest in their business, we see that as important to the business and the community.”
