What a Difference a Year Makes
06-12-2017
Posted by: Kimberly Kratz

Mike and Vikki Anderson, owners of Grocery Outlet in Quakertown, invite you to celebrate the store’s one year anniversary.

“The Quakertown community is really an amazing partner in the various fundraisers we hold here in the store; from support of the local food bank, to the hat and gloves and sock drives we held. They really are giving people,” Mike said.

It’s been a busy first year for the Andersons. Most surprising to store management veteran Mike has been the greater level of time commitment required. “It’s been a lot harder than I thought compared to being a manager, but the rewards are greater. The customers have made us feel so welcome, and they’re so friendly.”

The Andersons and their staff have seen a steady increase in new customers who are pleased to discover grocery shopping that doesn’t take a huge bite out of their wallet. “We have made a lot of really good friends of our customers. We have a lot of regulars,” Vikki said.

Their growing NOSH selection of organic and gluten free foods may be part of its growth. “Our customers tell us that our store has an old time, country-cozy feel because our employees say ‘hi,’ and they get to know them, often by name. We’ve gotten to know their children and they know our children and grandchildren too,” Vikki said.

“People are surprised to find out we’re not an overstock store,” Mike added.

Customers frequently comment that the family-friendly store is neat, clean and organized. Inventory changes to ensure customers can get the lowest possible prices on products they love which adds to the pleasurable experience of shopping at Grocery Outlet.

Facebook followers of Grocery Outlet Quakertown, PA can watch for weekend specials where they’ll post three designated items with blowout prices like a recent offer of 2 dozen eggs for $1. In addition to low prices and friendly customer service, customers can look forward to a pet drive during National Pet month and a July motorcycle rally run for military veterans.
